Where do we meet for our charter?On the day of your charter, you'll meet your Captain at Venice Marina, located at 237 Sports Marina Road, Venice, Louisiana, 70091. You will be informed of the exact meeting time before your trip. Please keep an eye on your notifications for this information.

How long is a typical charter?Our typical charter is around 6 hours.

Are there any age limitations for fishing charters?No, we welcome all ages of guests! We just ask that anyone under 12 years of age bring a size-appropriate life jacket with them. A life jacket is required for anyone in your party who is 16 years old or younger. Louisiana law requires that all children age 16 and younger wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved Type I, II, or III PFD while underway on a vessel less than 26 feet long.

What happens if there is bad weather on the day of my charter?When Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate and bad weather occurs on the day of your charter, the captain will make the final call on whether to delay, reschedule or cancel the trip. Your safety is our top priority. If the weather conditions are deemed unsafe, we offer a 100% refund for trips canceled due to the weather. Rest assured, we closely monitor all weather forecasts to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

How many people are allowed on the boat?We can accommodate up to four (4) people on a boat.

Is alcohol allowed on the boat?Yes, alcohol is allowed on the boat, but it is BYOB!

What should we bring for our charter?Rain Suit & Light Jacket: Weather can surprise us, so it’s best to be prepared. Sunglasses & Sunblock: Protect your eyes and skin from the sun's rays. Hat: A great way to stay cool and shaded. Food, Snacks & Drinks: Bring your favorite munchies and beverages – beer is welcome! Life Jackets: If you’re bringing kids under 16, make sure they have a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket. – it’s required! Ice Chest: You’ll need this to bring home your haul of fish, which will be vacuum sealed!

Do I need a fishing license?Yes, all charter guests need a valid Louisiana Fishing License. For non-residents, a 3-day Charter Passenger Fishing License is required. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is normally out and about checking for these credentials, so be prepared to avoid a hefty fine! You can easily obtain a non-resident and resident Fishing License online before your trip by visiting: https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/subhome/recreational-fishing You’ll receive an authorization number for immediate use, and you can either print your license or download a PDF copy to store on your phone.

Do you do half day charters?Yes, we do! Half-day charters are available upon request and are scheduled in the afternoon. These shorter trips are perfect for those looking to enjoy a few hours on the water without committing to a full day.

What are the new regulations for catching Red Fish/Bull Reds?Beginning June 20th, 2024, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will implement new regulations for catching Red Fish/Bull Reds, as outlined below: Daily Limit: 4 fish per angler Size Limit: 18” minimum and 27” maximum total length Anglers must catch and release on all Bull Reds over 27” in length During charter trips, captains and crew members can still participate in fishing activities to demonstrate techniques for catching red fish. However, any red fish they catch cannot be kept or counted towards the boat’s limit.

Is a cookout provided after each charter?Yes, cookouts are an available option for any charter trip with Native Adventures! Upon request, we offer a variety of delicious cookout options that are perfect for winding down and savoring the day’s adventure. Our cookouts are an ideal way to relax, unwind, and swap all those exciting “fish tales” from your unforgettable day on the water. Upon booking a charter with us online, you will be asked about your interest in a cookout. If you choose yes, you will be emailed a Google Form to fill out that lists our mouth-watering menu and more! What is your refund/cancellation policy?All fishing trips are required to pay a non-refundable deposit per boat, per day to secure the booking. Credit card information is required to be on file at the time of booking as well. If one wishes to cancel or reschedule their booking within 14 days of their scheduled trip, the guest's payment on file will be charged for the remainder of the booking. If a client wishes to reschedule their trip more than 14 days before the booking, clients can rebook within a calendar year. If you believe you have an outstanding circumstance for your cancellation, please feel free to call us at 504-534-2570. If your captain cancels your trip due to weather, you are eligible for a refund or to reschedule your trip.

What are some other things to do while in Venice?Venice has a couple of attractions nearby. The majority of our community centers around the outdoors and waterways in our town. However, Fort Jackson is a short drive away and has a museum that can be visited. Also, Breton National Wildlife Refuge is nearby which provides visitors with a rare opportunity of experiencing a remote portion of coastline and wildlife sightings. Do I need a hunting license if I have booked a duck hunt?Yes, if you are a resident of Louisiana, you will need a Louisiana hunting license. If you are a non-resident, you must either have: Basic Hunting and Waterfowl Licenses: Required for the full season if you are a resident. Non-Resident Native 10-Day Licenses: Includes a Basic Hunting and Waterfowl License, valid for each day of your 10-day hunting period. Non-Resident 5-Day Licenses: Includes a Basic Hunting and Waterfowl License, needed for each day of your 5-day hunting period. All waterfowl hunters age 16 and older, even those not otherwise required to purchase a license, must also have a Federal Duck Stamp.
